‘Bounty Fishing for Lung Cancer’ will take place from November 24-30th, during Lung Cancer Awareness Month, and 100% of the proceeds will go to LCA. The tournament will follow BountyFishing.com ‘s usual “catch anywhere, submit online” format. “My mother Marleen, a non-smoker, was diagnosed with lung cancer at age 49 and died six months later,” said Richard Shafter, founder and CEO of BountyFishing.com. “It was my painful, personal experience with this disease that prompt my desire to raise awareness and funds for the Lung Cancer Alliance.” Besides educating federal & state policy leaders on the need for greater resources for lung cancer research, LCA also works to raise national awareness, and offers patient empowerment programs.
